The new concept will preserve the venue’s live music while adding the operational efficiency required to deliver a hash brown during a guitar solo.

Under preliminary plans, musicians will continue performing onstage. Customers who applaud within 30 seconds may be asked whether they would like to make it a combo.

The familiar atmosphere will remain, although each table may receive a number and the phrase “I’ll have the usual” will be standardized across participating locations.

Executives reportedly promised that the coffee will improve through a proprietary system involving hotter water, recognizable cup sizes and a lid that stays attached while walking.

Regulars expressed cautious optimism about the breakfast menu but asked whether touring musicians would be permitted to use the drive-through. Designers are studying a loading window large enough for a guitar case but too small for a drummer’s opinions.

The first combined concert and breakfast service is expected shortly after the project receives approval from the Committee on Golden Architectural Features.
